ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A bright abstract painting with mainly orange, yellow and off white colours. I worked on self stretched linen, which is very rough. I did not prime it before working on it, merely used a bit of gesso before putting the colours on. Please have a look at the detail photos. There you can see the roughness of the unprimed linen very well. I added a fixture at the back of the work of art so it is ready to hang. The lines were drawn with oil pastel and charcoal. I want to add that it was very difficult to photograph this artwork. I want to point out that the blue that you see in the photo is not as intense in the original. It tends more to be a light greyish blue. The work in inches is 12 x 12 x 0.6

ARTIST STATEMENT: Life is a largely subjective experience; but that subjective experience is my bridge to the objective world. And it’s this synthesis of the two that I am trying to capture. INSPIRATION AND PROCESS: I love experimenting and want to give my works an individual expression. I have two lines of work: I love painting almost (but not quite) realistic, somewhat utopian, nature images and on the other hand I really enjoy doing non-objective/abstract art. I am inspired by the beauty and power of natural phenomena, the mystery of nature, its colors and forms. Every painting is a one-of-a-kind work in which I try to combine feeling and thought. I work most of the time with acrylics but I also mix acrylics with other media such as oil pastel, soft pastel, spray paint, graphite and charcoal or ink. All materials I use, if canvas, paper or paints are of artist quality.
