About The Artwork

"Lip Service" is a painting that can be bought as a birthday present by anyone for the boss who promises something but does nothing. • In the English language, lip service is an idiom that means an avowal of advocacy, adherence or allegiance expressed in words, but not backed by deeds. How many times have we been victimized by someone who had promised to do something but delivered nothing? Put simply, lip service is an act of insincerity, or a lie. These words mean the same thing, and only differ in one thing - spelling. • Because lip service is done almost by many everyday and everywhere for whatever reason, it seems that lying is just human nature and it's up to us to accept it whether we like it or not. Luckily, our parents created us with lips and a tongue. Without them: (1) The politicians will be out of business; (2) Many women will render their men largely useless; (3) Barbra can't have a duet with Sinatra; (4) A restauran can be opened by anyone; (5) My cellphone would need no silence button; (6) Mick Jagger, Celine Dion, Verizon, and the Department of Education would belong to the world of the "Unknown"; and lbnl (7) You can marry even the ugliest person at Amazon, and no one can tell you your taste is a booboo. • But when I titled the abstract "Lip Service", I only used the term to match exactly what we see in the artwork, and I did not insinuate an element of a lie or insincerity. • What inspired me to create the art were 2 things that I've seen in Las Vegas in the past, and by my dream to have Facebook introduce me to a woman with lips as luscious as Pavarotti Luciano's, or as exclusively hospitable as those of Jolie Galore. • This is what happened: After I watched "One" in Mandalay Bay that featured Michael Jackson's noisy hits, I decided to include him in the abstract, where I put him on the right, facing west and about to make peepee. And when I took my date to shop at Lulu Lemon, I decided to paint a yellow monkey, seen kneeling at the left of the canvas looking at you. • Since millions of people like Michael Jackson (Lisa Presley, Elizabeth Taylor, animals and children included), I thought it was cool to include a yellow little monkey. Why yellow, you may ask? That's because Michael likes the color; maybe because seeing a lot of black people around him annoyed him. In fact, his early demise could be a blessing, since Heaven is full of Angels dressed in bright colors, and no one is Hispanic, Asian, or Black like Michael. The only time you will see a Black Angel is when Michael impregnated an angel, creating a black little girl we might call Billie Jean. And because Michael himself had multiple surgeries to look white or yellow, I painted him yellow, so that the yellow monkey - who was once uneasy being green - would do a super job in performing her "Lip Service" on Michael. • Why I drew the monkey's tongue and lips by her butt might make you think that I am a nut . . . but . . . when I painted the background black, the idea was to make sure that nobody would see (except only you and me) Michael relieving to pee, and how much the monkey would get as a tip for serving Michael with her lip. And if the monkey failed to get a tip, don't tell Michael to go to hell because he never mentioned tip as a promise for her "Lip Service".
