Photography sometimes rules the day. This was a photograph, and an impressive one. I could not ignore the wonderful contrast of the layers. It made a natural painting. This is an oil on wood panel box, the sides painted black. It makes a heavy impression for such a small painting, and a great space filler for those hard to fill spaces between a door and a wall, or by a window and a corner. I've made quite a few this size now, and they are easy to find a place for because of this orientation.
