I originally painted this for a film I had written called "Rat Girl". The painting is an abstract expressionist rendering of urban alienation. The point of view is through the eyes of a lonely painter as he observes equally lonely women walking down the street. The frenetic, heavy impasto brush-strokes are done in blazing cadmium oranges and sweltering yellows, reminiscent of Van Gogh's palette. I feel this is one of my finest abstracts.

Born in Philadelphia, I've lived in New York City since 1985. Ive embraced a variety of disciplines including animation, filmmaking, painting, photography, screenwriting, and music. Being a screenwriter as well, I gravitate towards telling a story and am obsessed with complex characters. A comic-tragic narrative permeates most of my creations. I often use bright, festive colors to portray dark ideas.
