About The Artwork

The work is part of a group created responding to memory of places and the effect of man on the landscape. There are many layers, some of which are exposed to reveal glazed under painting and drawing as well as thickly applied paint and texture in other areas. This is representative of past memories and changes that occur over time. The piece is abstract, but intended to conjure impressions of being submerged in rocky landscapes. The overall effect is calming and not intended to be of any particular place, there is room for the viewer to interpret the shapes in their own way.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Although my paintings are inspired by the landscape I see around me, they are very expressive in nature. None are a copy of a particular place. Through both observation and memory I like to create abstract scenes that conjure up an emotional response. I enjoy letting the archeology of a piece show, allowing under drawn sections to play an important role in finished work. In my early career I worked as a graphic designer, later on moving to concentrate on fine art both as a practitioner and teacher.
