This painting was a comment on the loss of life. It is part of a series based on The roads to nowhere , which was inspired by the Irish famine. The bowls are the vessels of life emptied falling. The colour is a reference to the brutality of the idea of starvation.

I was born in Belfast, N.Ireland and left like many others during the troubles. I studied Fine Art in England, then moved further afield living and working in UAE, Hong Kong, Antigua, Romania before returning home 8years ago. My work has been a response to the varying cultures and experience I have observed. Colours play with symbols to tell the stories of my adventures and to gain an understanding of my and others journey in life.
