This scratchboard drawing/painting with scratchboard cutouts and resin pieces added represents the simultaneity of bloom and seeds of the Lotus flower. The Lotus flower is significant in Nichiren Buddhism as the symbol of cause and effect. Here the seeds spread their magic. The purple representing the spiritual. The browns representing the muddy water in which this beautiful flower grows. This two is significant in that no matter one's history the Buddha nature is within us all. This is an abstract painting with representation. I'm never sure how to label these. I consider them primarily abstract.
