Rayuela, Julio Cortázar For the painting series “Literature and signs”, here my interpretation of Lucía, one of the main characters, together with Horatio, of the novel Rayuela, by Cortázar. Lucía, also called “la maga”, is a hermetic woman, who sees the world with her personal lenses of joy and love, but at the same time an extreme fragility which will influence the life of Horacio forever. I decided to explore a pattern which embraces the fundamental elements of a novel: words. The portrait is made by the repetition of 14.641 words, changing in colors, dimensions and, as a consequence, overlapping. These properties are related to the lightness of the image, and are handmade, using alcohol-based color markers. Information contact@artcece.com
