The inspiration for "Luck" was drawn from the ever-elusive concept of luck itself. I found myself pondering the mysterious forces that shape our lives, the serendipitous moments that alter our paths. Just like the cave painters of ancient times, I believe that artists possess a unique ability to influence change through their creations. This idea of being modern-day sorcerers, harnessing the power of art to make meaning from dust, sparked the creative energy behind this expressive painting. With "Luck," I aim to evoke a sense of wonder and contemplation within its viewers. I want them to reflect on the unpredictability of life, the magic of chance encounters, and the subtle shifts that can profoundly alter our journey. Through the bold brushstrokes and vibrant colors, I hope to ignite a spark of curiosity, encouraging viewers to question the role of luck and fate in their own lives. The choice of oil on canvas as the medium allowed me to convey a sense of depth and complexity, creating layers of emotion that add to the enigma of luck. The subject matter, centered around luck and its intangible nature, allowed for a vast interpretation and emotional connection with viewers from various walks of life. The abstract expressionist style lent itself perfectly to capturing the fluidity and unpredictability of luck, granting me the artistic freedom to explore its essence through bold and evocative brushwork and soaking techniques. Stephanie Fuller is a multi-national artist whose paintings evoke strong emotions by blending seascapes and landscapes with an expressionistic style that highlights the human condition and our relationship with the natural world. With a well-rounded education in painting, drawing, and sculpture from Bath Academy, Norwich Life Room, and Wimbledon School of Art, Fuller has honed her technical skills. Her late husband, Peter Fuller, inspired her interest in ideas, beauty, and culture, while her childhood spent near the sea in Western Australia shaped her understanding of the natural world and her place within it. Fuller's artwork primarily revolves around environmental consciousness, reminding us of our connection to nature and our animalistic origins. Her creatures and people are intertwined in her paintings, which have been exhibited and collected by museums and private collectors globally for the past 30 years. Tragically, one of her large paintings was lost in the recent Australian bushfires. Over the years, Stephanie has had the privilege of visiting the studios of notable artists, including members of the Bomberg School, Leon Kossoff, and Roy Oxlade and the sculptor Henry Moore. David Bomberg's drawing skills and teachings, particularly his "spirit in the mass" concept of capturing the intuitive essence of a subject, have been a guiding force in Stephanie's artistic journey and will continue to influence her work. Stephanie Fuller's artwork has been widely recognised and collected by museums and private collectors worldwide for the past 30 years.
