Lucky pot on turquoise Painting

This piece has morphed through various stages of motif change and colour palette over many months. It features my ‘lucky pot’ courtesy of a distant relative in Hawaii some years ago. I’m intrigued by what lies beneath surfaces and the mosaic turquoise area exemplifies just that, as does the textured panelled background, revealed after many coats of surface paint. There’s a fine line between flowers and vegetables as is evident here, with heavily textured orange / red ‘poppy / peppers with varying degrees of attitude.
