Malon Painting

The painting, “Malon”, uses found plywood as a base, into which have been glued and/or nailed metal (license plate parts), cloth (miscellaneous bits and pieces) and wood (In this case a fragment of a windowsill). I scraped and cut into successive layers of paint, liberally applying pencil and more paint. I also used erasure (with wet cloth or steel wool) to bring up or reduce surfaces. Heavy-handed pencil marks accent the shape of the head in certain parts. Note that the dimensions of this painting are approximate. As the wood I find and use is rarely square, framing this work would be a true challenge. I discourage any effort to do so-the painting should stand on its own.
