About The Artwork

This is an ambitious abstract piece. If you look closely on the figure in the center, you will see the profile of a man on the left and the profile of a woman on the right. They appear to be gazing in opposite directions due to some opposing desires. These differences cause anxiety and propensity to errupt which is represented by the explosion of colors and the nuked mushroom figure of the two silhouettes (man and woman) combined. However, if their wants are weighted (me playing with economic concept of aggregate needs), a harmonious environment is achieved, creating equilibrium in a materialist/capitalist world or universe symbolized by geometric shapes (material things) floating in the sky (world) or galaxy (universe).
