ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I created this painting during a tumultuous time. My life had been in danger just a week before and I was finally getting a chance to rest in safety. It felt all to similar to some of the times I’ve been out swimming in the ocean when the waves suddenly turn from calm to wild. In those moments you go from feeling in control to completely powerless at the hand of the powerful water. There is a visceral beauty in the power of nature, but it’s a danger to not trifle with. But safety can be found and calm will abound. This painting was created on a 1.5” thick canvas, with the painting continuing around the edges. It arrives unframed, ready to hang.
