Man vs Nature #2 Painting

The colours and shapes used in these works are inspired by the cliffs, hillsides, and fields, seen around the English countryside. Nature is my biggest inspiration, and I hope I use paint and pencil in a way that shows the softness, the beauty and the subtleties you see within it, as nothing can match nature's beauty. Colours are built up in stages. Washing, sanding, and rubbing away areas then painting over and over again. Some sections are heavy showing the layers of colours and others are rubbed all the way back to the wood. All the works are painted over two boards; with one being glued on top of another. The middle section which is approx 15.5 x 12 inches, is double the thickness of the outer board. (The outer board is the area that has no blue). They're finished off with wax, which makes them really soft and smooth to touch.
