About The Artwork
In this work entitled "mannequins" the color of Enrique Pichardo is a fundamental aspect that gives meaning to the work. The painter in some of his works uses a palette of bright colors that stand out and contrast with each other. Color is a mark that definitely sets standards in some of the author's creations. His lines evoke tales of great artists such as Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, Piet Mondrian, Paul Klee, Jackson Pollock, José Manuel Merello, Juan Gris and Albert Gleizes. Being the style of the unique master, with a mixture of everything that he defines as Naif. Work in rectangular format. Color composition. The background of the work is green, at the bottom there are spaces in yellow, red and blue. In the lower corners there are two grids, both with a black background, the one on the left has orange and green cross lines. On the right side, the lines that form the grid are in white. At least two characters are found inside the work, again with striped patterns on parts of their bodies. The moon in six colors is in the upper right corner and at least three stars at the top of the box. From the title of the work we can infer that the main characters in this piece are inanimate objects that reproduce the figure of a person mostly for commercial purposes. The prop statues that are the mannequins and that are used in many spaces now take the sideboards of Enrique Pichardo's colored canvas.

The Mexican plastic artist, Enrique Pichardo, has more than 30 years of experience as a painter. His technique and style combine artistic influences from other countries with the traditional Mexican influence. In his own words, he defines his art as naive expressionism. The plastic work of Enrique Pichardo has more than one aspect. On the one hand, he creates works that are densely populated with shapes, figures, and colors. On the other hand, he has abstracted urban landscapes with a neutral color palette that recreates everyday situations. However, the special characteristic that maintains the cohesion of all his pieces is the conviction of approaching art through a return to his childhood and his first traces.
