About The Artwork
I like working in pastel because of the directness of the medium and the purity of the pigments. I have always been affected by nature and find a meditative power there. I photograph constantly and when reviewing the images find compelling images within the frame, often from unexpected material. In this case I was lying down looking up into the canopy of a very large old oak in a friend's garden and observing the changing light at dusk and the colors of the changing leaves and the color in the changing atmosphere.
