About The Artwork
This is an original work in acrylic and ink.I am interested in abstract expressionism, fauvism, and surrealism. My fascination with ocean creatures comes from a number of things.I love using paint to create interactions.I like working with movement and exploring paint as though it were a living creature.I enjoy my own version of action painting.In doing this I found connections to the ocean the way a jellyfish moves through water is not far off from the movement of paint.I love that nudibranchs come in colors that we often would see as unnatural and fauvist.This sea slug came from my imagination yet it feels like it could exist.I enjoy dancing the line between science and fantasy.
