What one sees through the eyes is transmitted to the brain over the optic nerve and then converted and stored into the memory. I draw that memory. The outer world is perceived through one's own filter and then becomes the inner world. In that world, the scenery that the person sees changes its form and is restructured to the individual's inside. Figuratively speaking, it is as if a part of the scenery starts to dissolve and a new vision spreads out, which will remain as the memory. For example, think about a situation in which several people experienced the same thing at the same time. What they see is the same. However, when it is converted into these people’s memory, only what impresses them the most remains in their memories while what is unattractive for them is excluded unconsciously. Or even when you think about your personal memory, only the core part of a memory remains inside of you by recalling it over and over again. The other memories which go along with the core memory are fading. When your feeling or a concept of time is involved, the other memories can diminish even more. I consider a memory to be something like a reflection on a water surface. A water bubble on the surface of a river reflects a scenery above it. At that moment, the bubble pops and vanishes. The scenery dissolves into the water and piles up on the bottom of the river. When this process is repeated, old memories go down to the bottom of the pile and will never be swept away. New memories on the other hand, can be swept away easily and hardly remain there. More precisely, old memories cannot be easily forgotten as they are recalled repeatedly, whereas new memories are easy to forget if they are not much needed.
