This is an original artwork made by me using high quality acrylics and illuminating paints. painting is coated with two layers of gloss varnish to ensure durability. ————————— MATERIAL USED: Acrylic paints, Resin, illuminating media, gloss varnish ————————— INSPIRATION: The painting is titled Ethereal Ianthe. This painting is inspired by the Greek mythology. Ianthe (spelled E- An- Thei) is the daughter of Titan Oceanus and Tethys. Ianthe means violet flower. She is an ocean nymph. It was said that when she died the gods made purple flowers grow around her Grave. I painted her on a stretched canvas of 24 x 36 inch using acrylic paints. I also used illuminating media to create that radiance in her hair, crown and scales. Abstract water was painted on the background to create an underwater effect. The painting is finally coated with gloss varnish to ensure shine and durability. As I have used illuminating media, the artwork shines when light flashes on it. The original work was displayed at State Gallery of Art, Hyderabad and is now for sale.
