Mesh reflects my interest in the face and the psychology of the gaze. What stories are hidden in a person’s eyes? The work is built up through layers of charcoal, matte medium, oil, and acrylic, lending a certain complexity and mystery to the face. Mesh is matted with grey mat and framed in a simple black frame, bringing the final dimensions to 15" x 12."

Charity Henderson is a figurative artist residing in Queens. She received her BFA in Painting at SUNY Brockport in 2010. In 2013, she completed her MFA at UMass Dartmouth on a Distinguished Artist Fellowship. Charity has also studied painting in Italy, Sicily, and France. Currently, she exhibits at the Salmagundi Club in Manhattan, and regularly shows her work throughout the United States.
