About The Artwork
Part of the Mindplay series, Big, Little, Big Dream is an abstract representation of a reoccuring nightmare, being sucked into a swirling vortex, being stretched and made huge,then crushed and made tiny,over and over, symbolising the aspirations and reality of the career-minded. I use a simple technique, based on the lesser known 'Bush Medicine Leaf' Aboriginal style, but adding depth and form to create a 3- dimensional aspect, more akin to the op-art movement of the 1960's . My paintings move and undulate when stared upon, animating the abstract narrative. I also use UV and flourescent acrylics so seeing them in black light changes them yet again.

Originally from Liverpool where I studied art, before moving to London to work in advertising. Became obsessed with developing a multi-dimensional painting style that pays homage to the lesser know style of aboriginal art, 'Bush Medicine Leaf' . I now live in Kent with my family where I have been experimenting with my techniques and materials with some degree of success. As of June 2015 my 'Mindplay Series 1' is on exhibition at the Corke Gallery in Liverpool.
