About The Artwork
Born from a dream, a giant skull with souls trapped within aching to escape. This painting was created by painting multiple portraits on linen textured paper, then mounting that paper on acid free foam core. The foam core was then mounted to a sheet of pine and wrapped in canvas, I then burned away the canvas to reveal the portraits behind.

Born 1992. My work is born through my dreams, weighted past experience, and introspection. The intent of my practice is to invoke the same emotional state with the viewer that I was in while creating the work. I build texture through many layers of transparent oil paint. This process allows the elusive properties of light to shine through each layer creating a luminous glow. What I am seeking is to not create a photo realistic painting but rather a living, breathing depiction, regardless of subject matter. While retaining a mysterious quality, and leading the viewer with limited direction, I hope to inspire people to look more carefully of the world that surrounds them.
