Money Moss Painting

For 'Moss' each dot is a character, and has its bubble of life involving the dots around them. They are deliberately placed, each colour has a tendency, and is behaving only by what can be gauged by its position relative to the other dots. This causes patterns and divisions and clusters to form and tell of a wider situation and the formation of a more complex being than a single dot, and just as much of a character. The raised vein detail of each dot- or its absence, is unique to each dot- like a snowflake. This is caused by the placing and lifting of the champagne cork with which the dots were minted on the canvas, I liked how it resonated with the veins of a leaf or a biological organism. For me, the architect of this mob of individuals, there is drama and intrigue, love, gossip and resentment. A cross-section of a complex civilisation made up of beautifully simple beings.
