About The Artwork
'Monitor' plays on the way everything seems to revolve around computers/internet, aiming to get the viewer to question the role of technology in their lives. As in other works the piece is also looking at the Internet as an act of self preservation, this idea came about when reading an article about an option of what happens to your facebook account after you die, it becomes almost a shrine for visitors, which is reflected in the paintings glowing appearance, and the ghostly quality of the faces in the background.
