About The Artwork
This watercolor on Ampersand Aquabord has been sprayed with a sealant and can be displayed without a frame or protective glass. It was inspired by a photograph I took of a beautiful starfish at an Oregon beach. It is currently on exhibit at the California Art League's "Red" show at the at the Blinn House, in Pasadena, Calif., until March 10, 2017, and wouldn't be available for shipping until the end of the show.

I am a geeky web developer with a background in photojournalism. I spent most of my life thinking I was not able to draw or paint. But during the summer of 2011, I bought a set of pastels and started playing with them. Encouraged by my results, that Fall I took a painting class at my local community college. Since then, it's been a pursuit that I have way too little time for, but really enjoy. I mostly use my own photographs for inspiration. And it is my love of animals and the ocean that inspires my choice of subject matter.
