About The Artwork

We all wonder sooner or later what our body would be like if there were certain differences. In this work, I put myself in the shoes of a visually impaired person. Do the exercise, close your eyes and stay alert. My entourage told me that he felt anguish and that the experience was unpleasant. At 12, I had the chance to meet a visually impaired person and our discussion marked me. She told me: "You know, I see much more than you think, I see with my fingers, my sense of smell is hyper developed, my ears hear sounds that people don't notice ..." The story behind... Mr. Blind lives on this planet. You who never saw the sunlight, What are you dreaming of? Do you dream of seeing the children playing instead of hearing their cries of joy? Do you dream of seeing the sea instead of hearing its waves? Mr. Blind replied: I dream of the smell of flowers, Of the sound of music, Of the sun that warms my life.

*Contemporary artworks, ecological approach, perpetuate memories.* THE ARTIST MDAUTEUIL is a French Canadian who has lived in France for a few years and has now settled in Finland, Since 2006. she associate different elements: bones, glass, soot, snake moults, blood, metals, stones, insects, dried flowers...in short, all natural materials are an inspiration. Her pregnancies impacted on her art: cartesian lines faded and gave way to curves and movement. Her trades as a former jeweler and glassblower combined with studies in psychology have influenced the materials used and their disposal. ARTISTIC APPROACH Having lived her childhood in the North-Canadian woods, the artistic work of MDAUTEUIL is strongly imbued with an ecological awareness. Remarkably meticulous, her fascinating compositions uniquely combine creation and memory. Each memory is a singular moment in a story: a wedding bouquet, a jewel of a loved one or the bones of a pet offer new feelings in the hands of the artist. Over time, MDAUTEUIL gleans and collects different materials full of meanings: precious metals, pieces of blown glass, jewelry and even organic materials gathering leaves, mushrooms and fish skins. Wood and stainless steel will then serve as supports for her art. During the conception phase as well as for the good conservation of her works, MDAUTEUIL favors natural acids and water-based products. The original blend of recycled materials, bones, woods, seeds or dried flowers is transformed into rich semi-precious textures. Her poetic and artistic creations carry a strong message whose aim is also to enlighten society’s awareness with regard to environmental issues. Each composition is its own unique little world, a wall art piece adorned with a vegetal and animal decor, a planet offering a new tale surrounding human being and memory. ______________________________________________ Created by Mdauteuil, visual artist since 2006, Maria Rosa was born with a desire to conscientiously immortalize flowers. Allowing bouquets to become eternal and to remember their precious moments. Ordering a Maria Rosa artwork underlines the importance of a memorable moment and makes it unforgettable.
