About The Artwork
Moonlight On Vermont was inspired by a song by Captain Beefheart with the same title. To me the painting evokes contemplative ecstasy, the in depth process of the mere witnessing of phenomena, the abiding as Love. These ladies odelisque. Their attention is in sublimity. There is no dilemma. Who exists is God. I used crayon and pastel colours to convey softness and gentleness. The women enjoy solitude. Their attention, their gaze is at infinity.
