Moonlight Tale Painting

Moonlight Tale is one painting of a long series. Each one of them tells a story. They are built up throughout my working process, starting from a shape. Stories, about anti-heroines. They are the reflection of the monstrosity that lives inside of each one of us. Black accentuates the brutality of the matter. Media juxtaposition is part of my process. I always end up by pouring some resin varnish on my synapse paper as it creates light, transparency with the black wet oil painting and shades of grey ; it highlights the uncanny side of my work. My artistic project is a personal mythology. My paintings are a battlefield in which I fight. I use black pigment alternately as gunpowder and as tar. I pour beeswax on it so that everything explodes, knowing I cannot control everything. It is a way to surpass my limits. My goal is not to win the battle, but to fight by leaving scars in the "skin", in the wax.
