About The Artwork

An original framed painting of the moon in trees. Inspired by the recent large moon I decided to paint it as it peeked out from behind the entanglement of tree branches. This is a beautifully atmospheric piece that speaks of romance and perfection in nature's design. The art is framed in a white frame which really brings the elements of light to the forefront of the piece. The frame is ready to hang and has a label on the back advising about hanging protocol (this was bought from a reputable frame supplier). It has a metal hanging attachment to the back. There is no glass in the frame as I let canvas texture breath by varnishing them for full effect. Please note: Photos of my work never seem to do it full justice, hiding the textures and extra details in some areas.

Born in St Helens, Merseyside in the UK in 1973, I have been drawing and painting since I can remember. I won several art competitions with my art as a youngster. At twenty three I gained a Bachelor of Design Degree from Duncan of Jordanstone college of art and my career headed in the graphic design and illustration direction for a long time. Eventually unfulfilled and disillusioned with the world of graphics and following two redundancies, I took to his art again after a gap of many years. I am very fulfilled in my work and find inspiration in nature. I enjoy the energy of the world around us and try to reflect this through bright florals and uplifting landscapes, which all reflect my strong inherent sense of colour use and enjoyment of using thick paint. I am influenced particularly by the wildflowers and trees around us and feel I have a unique way of reflecting their intricate design and energy onto the canvas. I hope this makes me an exciting, Northern English artist to watch!
