Morph - Anatomy of a Shape Shifter Painting

Since the painting is a monochromatic light colour, it has been photographed on a dark background to give it more definition. The work is a 3 panel (triptych), textured acrylic painting. It is unique in that you can hang the pieces in in 50 different configurations, each making a stunning new shape and design. Each combination creates a cohesive painting, the size of which varies depending on which hanging arrangement you chose. Rich texture and muted taupe colours make it timeless. Combinations vary in size, therefore almost any size of wall can be accommodated. Painted on canvas (supported by thin plywood and a hardwood frame) the painting has beautifully finished gallery wrap edges and is protected by two coats of clear varnish. It comes with earthquake-proof hangers as well as a booklet detailing all hanging instructions, as well as a a template and is ready to hang. I was inspired by the idea that the buyer of this work can indulge their own taste, aesthetic.... and creativity by choosing which combination/design they wish to hang. Just think - an interactive painting! Long wall, narrow wall and everything in between - this painting can literally change its shape and size.
