ABOUT THE ARTWORK
June 2020. Oil paint and acrylic on canvas. This was originally part of a larger painting which I cut down. The off-cut was remounted onto another piece of good quality cotton canvas prepared by myself. The acrylic underpainting has been overpainted in oils. To start with the shapes were of course random, but developed into a roomscape of flat coloured shapes, mostly rectangular. The black mortar was then superimposed, painted from observation.
