About The Artwork
My inspiration comes by far most by the art of my grandparents, both artist (Baukje Kruit and Georg Ruyter). The forms come from deep within. I simply start with a clear mind and follow my hand. Nature is the second source of inspiration, without being directly recognizable, I experience the calm yet vibrant forces of nature in my work. I search for an unexpected balance. Colors who might not fit together, are carried by the shapes of the forms, and then suddenly DO fit. In the process of creating I try to create a peace of mind, in the chaos of daily life and connect to a universal flow of calmness. There is no message for the viewer, it's up to you, he or she, to feel what’s resonates, what confuses, what itches, what blooms, watching the colors and forms. I use only high quality acrylic paint and high-quality cotton canvas at a wooden frame. It is possible to take the wooden frame off to make it easy to send by mail.
