I am interested in the integration and synthesis between certain geometric planimetries and their gestural, textured, and fresh counterpart, to be able to find a harmonious coexistence between an ordered structure and intuitive impulses. I am inspired by the combination of disciplines such as fine arts and graphic design, the contrast between the handmade and the industrial, the geometry of urban design or architecture, and the looseness of nature. This work belongs to the series "Floating Mountains", realized in the city of Stuttgart in 2022. The main figure of the painting or outline, which is repeated rhythmically in each work of this series, represents a synthesis; inspired by the shape of a hill or even the large houses I observe daily here in the city of Stuttgart, which form large blocks or masses. This silhouette and its variations captivated me since my arrival, and I take it as a starting point to explore different relationships, in a compositional aesthetic game that seeks to combine the old and the modern, integrating medieval and pre-war architecture, later restorations, and modern needs. From this mixture surges the current urban design with modern symbology, posters, new details of colors, graffities, street art, new stores and businesses incorporated into the old structures, and so on. That's why a lot of things happen inside these figures. "Floating mountains" because I rescue this form of "mountain" as a synthesis of the hill, or the house and I take them out of context, floating on a new abstract surface.
