Mountains 6# The paths from above, the eagle Painting

When a photo and a watercolor mix... Watercolour on paper with passe-partout (white cardboard framing mat). At the bottom of the painting, we see an original cyanotype made with tree leaves, small branches, flowers. The cyanotype is a technique of printing by the sun, it is one of the first techniques to make a photographic print. The watercolour was made from a photo I took in the mountains of the Pyrenees in the Aspe valley, on a summer evening when the light was particularly beautiful. I wanted to recreate this brightness, this transparency. A poem by Jacques Bompard about the Pyrénées : " End of day The decline of this day has been prolonged for a long time There on the horizon behind the river, In the mass of the wood where light filtered Soft mauves and glowing gold. Beautiful and tender dreams were awakening, Evoking the splendour of the purple of kings, Or saying slowly charm and fright About when you’re the only one stirring ashes. In the water were swaying, fantastic, flowers. A sash lay half-veiled and half-light. A fragrance mixed with thyme and fern Came from the forest where the lights were playing."
