About The Artwork

When I first started working as a car salesperson, I called myself a finance and lease consultant. I knew that one day, I’d find that quick buck and that it’d be a big buck. They told me that #1 was making $10,000 per month. I saw #1 and he had everything he wanted. That’s because he was truly dedicated to waking up and going to work until bedtime. He and #2. They enjoyed it. They didn’t have a wife waiting for them to come home. They told me they couldn’t remember the last time they read a book. All they could remember was last night, shots of Patron, and influencers with large breasts and big bottoms. They’d show me a picture. I saw their sneakers and wanted my own, but I didn’t have $700 to spare. So I started dedicating every second to selling cars. To talking to people. Waiting. Thinking. Pulling hair out of my head. Perfecting my every move, word, and making sure that every gesture I made was right on time. That way, I’d sell every car to everyone, every time. You only have to sell 8 per month to keep your job. That’s about 1 every 3 days. I failed. I let the consumer hurt my feelings. Every time they said no, I was crushed. So I’d come in at 9 am and leave at 8 pm sad and unsatisfied. I’d come in at 9 am some days and leave at 8 pm without having talked to anybody. Every day I didn’t sell a car I’d dwell on it for the rest of the month. I’d wonder what it was about me that wasn’t working for the consumer. #1 and #2 were selling a car every day. Just #1 and #2. Sometimes #3. I suffered. I was sad. I was hurt. So I left. Now I’m good.
