View In My Room
An abstracted self-portrait depicting a form sitting in a meditative state, restricted by consciousness from emptying the mind. The profile faces left, and depicted elements inside and outside prevent the figure from finding solace in meditation. Loosely based on Bauhaus, Modern and Suprematist influences for a clean, simple style; a distillation of abstract concepts into colorful shapes. Hanging hardware included.

Maddy Kaudy is a St. Paul-based painter and printmaker. She believes that the experience of art is a celebration of our humanness. The full spectrum of this encounter begins with what she derives as an artist in the process of creating. The cycle is completed once the audience brings work to its final culmination with the acts of viewing, interacting, and reacting. This contact is fluid through time, and though her works are forged by her hands, they draw on her internalization of the spiritual nature of shared humanity. This continually evolving exchange allows both artist and viewer to learn about one another and the self via shared experience in this temporary existence. Maddy believes in the infinite nature of expression and her vocation is to act as conduit between a driving artistic force outside of the self and the people who make up her audience. Her responsibility is to bring original works into physical manifestation and to share fearlessly and with gratitude.
