My copy of Rubens's picture The Union of Earth and Water Painting

This copy the author made during studying time in the Academy of fine arts. The copying is mandatory part of studying so she began the work in the museum, a few month taking the colors from the original and studying the manner of Rubens's painting. I didn't have a goal to repeat the manner, but just to touch it, and to find her own way to paint the objects because I copied for my own development. But the drawing, the characters and the colors I tried to represent as accurate and close to the original as I could. As the original hangs in a wall and it is quite large (220x200 cm), the faces and other details were too far and I finished them in my studio from photos and reproductions. video of the work https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hahnpdatUgU I can work in all genres, I like to invent pictures, to put there meaning and style. My education is classic but my goal is to mix classical skills with achievements of contemporary art. I tend to decorative painting, colors are very important for me. The power, harmony and balance of strong color relationships help me to represent meanings, emotions and philosophy. That's why I prefer acrylic technic although I was educated on oil painting of the Old master’s school and a lot of my early paintings are done by oil.
