About The Artwork
This is the first painting in a series I've called 'fantasy'. I created an idealic scene, a place I wanted to be and free to roam as I pleased. I hope it evokes a feeling of wonder and enchantment. A place where only good things happen. This work was a huge departure for me as up to this point I had not really worked with acrylics and took it a step further by scratching into the finished painting to add texture and interest.

At the heart of my work is storytelling, which usually informs the compositions I create. Fluid lines, contours, shadows and expressions are key elements while themes range from a sense of hope to dreaming of what's possible; the power of self belief; championing the underdog; celebrating and reimagining the world we live in. I’m fascinated and inspired by human and animal behaviour, biology, history, space, the natural world and design.
