I do large paintings. As large as I can. Most of them have no real title. Why April? Because I remember that in April, I was painting this canvas. Maybe I had started it in March and maybe it was still not finished in May? April is a also a month that announces a change everywhere. Anyway i remember April. so it's No name April. I wrote a poem about me painting a large canvas: A large canvas on the wall. Difficult, impenetrable. Chaos, destruction, erasure, exhaustion. Disappointment. Separation. Tense night. Another day. The large canvas on the wall of the studio. The energy, the rage, the lightning, the frontal challenge, brutal. Black time inside time, red without fire. Tearing, opening, fingers loosen, the brush slides. Colors penetrate, shapes speak. Thirsty. Night without sleep, mattress without feather, bright moon. In the darkness, glide to the studio. Look again, see more closely, at an angle. Come and go, catch the invisible. A day without appetite, feeding on questions. The studio is clear, calm, time is suspended. The large canvas on the wall awaits the crucial face-to-face. Vibrating suction, until contact. Imploded color form. Color exploded form. Finally, the work breathes. My painting is here. A few more hours. Turn around. Distance. Dispersion. Dizziness. It’s over, it and me. I’m no longer interested. Now, get out of the studio, shift to other orbits. Walk. Reject all thoughts. Walk.
