About The Artwork
This Australian Landscape Oil Painting of a Bandstand in a local park here in Moree is a further attempt at the now popular style of Naive art. The painting is not a true representation of this local park, but an imaginative view that this style of art allows for. The bright colours used permitted me to play and transform this park into a happy place for the viewer. The bright pastel colours and not quite realistic perspectives gave this landscape the simplistic and childlike features that Naive art called for. The path in the foreground allows the viewer to wander up to the bandstand in their imagination and stay awhile. The bushes are a happy place for bird life to sing and rest a little. The challenging nature of this technique required I hoped were satisfied in this painting, of which I am quite proud. This painting was both a joy and a challenge to create. The bright pastel colours of this Naive art landscape have indeed been complemented by the gold ornate frame, which is indeed ready to hang. Of course, the buyer has the option to purchase the painting without the frame at a reduced cost. This Naive art landscape will be the pride of place for the fortunate buyer I felt sure.

I was born in Coventry, England and migrated with my family to Australia when I was 8 years old. I graduated from Southern Cross University completing Social Science and Counselling Post Graduate Degrees. This was my chosen career till retirement a short while ago. This decision to retire gave me the opportunity to follow my lifelong passion of being able to create. I have decided to paint Australian Landscape and Seascape in oil paints on stretched canvas. I also enjoy the simplicity of watercolor painting in abstract and landscape techniques. I have completed an online art course under Dan Scott and take advantage over any other study I can afford. I thrive of learning and believe that the journey of an artist is indeed a life long one.
