About The Artwork
During the painting process, SHIhO’s friends from Paris were visiting in New York. They painted on their hands white and words it’s written, “see”, “hear” and “speak” from Japanese quote, “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”, and they posed and photographed themselves like three wise monkeys. In the painting, there is a person, Narcissus with white hand looking up the world what is happening surrounding him/herself. The white hand symbolizes great worker’s hands. Pumpkin and purple color of flowers are daffodil that is called narcissus in French.
