About The Artwork
Completed during a 10 month residency in a Franciscan convent, this work hints in its lines of geometric abstraction at the influences at work in this period: angels; the Virgin Mary; stars and donkeys or nuns? The playful composition was an early distillation of ideas that would become the body of work DODECAD, created during the residency for a commissioned exhibition in the nave of L'Eglise Saint Merry, central Paris in 2015. It is painted in house paint and acrylic on canvas.
