Description:
South African Ndebele culture art, with its geometric patterns and bright colours is the inspiration for this body of work. The patterns feature vivid colours, as well as added beads and crochet work for depth and texture.

About the artist’s work:
Rina’s accounting background speaks of a mind that enjoys order and structure. The clean lines and shapes of these Ndebele-inspired geometric patterns combine the two parts of Rina’s personality and reflect her energy and creativity in harmony with her ordered, structured mind.

About the Ndebele Tribes in South Africa:
The vibrant symbols and expressions communicate personal prayers, self-identification, values, emotions, and marriage for the Ndebele tribe in South Africa. The women of the tribe are often the tradition carriers and the main designers of the wall art of their home. The tradition and style of house painting is passed down through the families from generation to generation by the mothers. A well-painted home shows that the woman of the household is a good wife and mother.

Artwork notes:
This piece is a completely unique and original abstract acrylic painting on hand-crafted artist’s canvas, using 100% pure cotton, kiln-dried certified selected timber frame and hand primed with acrylic-based primer. A thin layer of varnish protects the artwork against UV light and dust.
This painting is not framed, but comes ready to hang with the sides painted. Framing is unnecessary, but may be preferred, depending on the client’s wishes.
The artwork is signed on the side and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Rina Ritzi creates emotive and exclusive modern abstract art for both personal and corporate spaces. Growing up in the Free State, South Africa, Rina was always creative, but painting was a medium she didn't explore, and her creative passion was put on hold for a number of years. After studying, Rina became an accountant. Not a common career choice for a creative soul, but it appealed to Rina's organised mind, her enjoyment of working with people and a love for numbers. Now, though, that artistic talent, passion and creativity has allowed Rina to free her creative spirit and her artwork is personal, emotional, distinctive, evocative and unique, but it is driven by the need to create something for a client where they have input into the process. Rina's love of the outdoors provides her with inspiration, energy and motivation. The ever-changing colours, light and movement provide energy and vibrancy that translate into a variety of media.
