Annette Keis The German born artist lives in Brazil since 1999.After graduating in fashion design at the FH Trier in 1989, she lived and worked as a freelance artist and designer in Berlin and Amsterdam.In Brazil, after a longer stay in the northeast and an intensive experience in living together with Indians in the hinterland of Brasilia, she satteled down in Florianopolis, Santa Catarina together with her Brazilian husband, the musician Luiz Carlos Mesquita.Since then she has been working freelance as an artist, designer and art teacher,initially located in the CIC (Cultural Centre of Santa Catarina in the capital Florianopolis) andsince 2000 also in her own studio in Gamboa, beach resort of Garopaba, Santa Catarina. In addition to artistic expressions, she is teaching integrative yoga there since 2016.The vision of a bridge between Germany and Brazil determines her life, as well as an integrative, hybrid choice of languages, witch form a multidimensional work.Integrity, authenticity, enthusiasm and spontaneity are just as characteristic for her as is thorough research, and a constant thirst for knowledge and curiosity for all what feeds her, makes her feel the pulse of time and keeps her work in dynamic motion.For her,the meaning is in “beeng art”,” a light cell in the body of the universe”.Brilliant, vibrant, contagious,…
