Vita Werner Fassbender The German artist Werner Faßbender was born in the town of Lahnstein on the Rhine, Germany. Development At the beginning there was an exercise in drawing objects with a pencil on paper. Using a minimalistic, impressionistic way of expression, he developed an abstract, informal painting, which he has worked on to this day in many nuances and with different materials. Artistic implementation The artworks are characterized by many overlapping layers of paint, which are compiled from expressive colors. He makes the oil paints for it himself. Further training Numerous training courses, the latest in 2012, 2013 at the Art Academy of Gerlingen, 2015 by Mr. Bernd Lokai, have introduced him to new materials and the continuous further development his technical skills. During his training, he studied the theory of colors based on the Itten color theory and intensified this knowledge by taking seminars at various art academies. This color technique is also the basis of his abstract, informal painting. Graduated 1975 He completed his German secondary school degree in Koblenz, Germany in 1975. Since 1980 Painting He has devoted himself intensively to the art of painting since 1980. 1980 Minimalism The series of works "woman with a walking stick" expresses a minimalist technique that he painted on paper with a few dynamic brushstrokes, with tar varnish and acrylic. He practices deliberate minimalism while still maintaining the expressiveness of his works. He achieves this with expressive colors, picturesque combinations and by experimenting with materials. 1985 First Exhibition His paintings were exhibited for the first time in 1985 in Koblenz. 1993 abstract painting In the 1993’s, his initially impressionist painting style changed to abstract images. Abstract painting is now in the foreground. 2010 Sculptures Since 2010, Werner Faßbender has created sculptures in concrete or aluminum or has been using plastic tubes, which he combines in various ways, assembles into objects and designs artistically. Werner Fassbender lives and works in Koblenz, Germany, and operates a studio in Koblenz.
