About The Artwork

I draw my inspiration from the connections between the organic world and the technical world, surrounded by information streams floating without a specific goal, which irreversibly force us to further changes. The main quality, the "superpower" of today is the ability of staying up to date in this fragmented reality full of odds and ends of information, where being tied to a particular identity is no longer beneficial, but staying flexible and each time being ready for the next change is the way. So, in this series of works I deal with the multi-identical contemporary body. This body contrasts with the background of nature, which has already passed through its own evolution at its own pace. Faithful to the rules of nature, the characters of my pictures adopt in their everyday life the rustic methods of protection such as spikes, "illusory faces", elements of mimicry, as well as implants and gadgets that increase their resilience and security. Captured and stopped on canvas, the moment of this high-speed process in which the characters change their “skins”, is highly intimate and exposed.

I am an artist from Vienna,Austria I graduated from the State Academy of Design and Arts in Kharkov (Ukraine) with a degree in industrial design in 2000. Since then, I collaborated with ELLE-Ukraine magazine, making illustrations for their articles, worked for the advertising industry and had joint projects with various Ukrainian fashion designers.Currently, I actively participate in group exhibitions and various art projects. In my work I use transformation as a strategy. Fictional life blends with reality, and they invariably begin to influence each other. In this way my paintings reflect a fascinating and dynamic process of creating the transition of the present day into a new and mutable reality. Images imprinted in the altered, moving space of memory reveal their transformative nature.. Through the paths of the halted moment of change I expose the intimacy and sincerity of transformation. I work with abstract and figurative art, it helps me to create a visual representation of my conceptual needs as well as to blur the lines between the fictitious and the literal, the familiar and the abstract, the absurd and the serious, thus trying on the opposites.
