New Horizons II Painting

"New Horizons II" is the second of a trio of large abstracts completed in early 2022. Using acrylic and mixed media and a bold approach to exploring and exploiting differences, this painting is full of contrasts that will excite and engage the viewer. The delicate ferns hide behind layers of dark paint forming windows into the painting to explore further. Turquoise highlights against deeper red details provide a contrast with the black and white horizon which is key to the composition. From here the viewer can explore the rich texture, mark making and many other details that run through this piece. This is a piece that will capture the imagination. As one of my first trio of abstract pieces this is a piece that marks the start of a new chapter in my creative journey. Measurements: 40 x 40 cms unframed and unmounted.
