About The Artwork
Temple of Al-Khazneh (Jordan, Petra city) at night illuminated by the moon. From “Wonders of the World” series. Materials: acrylic paints and stretched canvas. Petra is a famous archaeological site located in the desert in the southwestern part of Jordan. The city, founded in 300 BC. e., was the capital of the Nabatean kingdom. Thanks to the numerous tombs and temples carved in the rocks of pink sandstone, Petra was called the "Pink City". You can get here only through the narrow canyon Sik. Among the sights of the city stands the temple of Al-Khazneh ("Treasury") with a height of 45 m, elegantly decorated in the Greek style, wich I painted and this artwork opens my “Wonders of the World” series. Size: 19,6x16x0.6 inches (50x40x1.5 cm)
