About The Artwork

Rene Magritte continues to inspire many of my paintings. In this one, I feature the man in the bowler hat, standing in calm waters several hundred yards off shore. A toy sailboat and a rubber ducky are floating around him, seemingly as if he's his own island. There are very few ripples around the man, indicating that he's been standing there, motionless for a while, taking in the same scenery that we are seeing and wondering, how did he get here in the first place?

I am a modern day, self-taught surrealist. I paint ideas. My goal is to depict the impossible or at least, the highly improbable. When people view my paintings, it's readily apparent what is going on, just not always easily understandable as to why. My paintings will make you think and hopefully, bring a smile to your face.
