Painting, Oil on Canvas

This is the first of a series I made in 2021 called 'There is no snow in the mother'. They are paintings dealing with the trauma of childloss and the mourning of an absence. In this painting a giant shadowy creature lives in the crib of a child. There is a single lamp lighting the room. There seems to be a phone standing on the cabinet, with a camera watching the scene. The gradients of the painting are wonderful and evocative of a warm atmosphere. I think it is the contrast between that warmth and the absence of an actual character that makes this painting effective.

Welcome to my Saatchi page! If you're here, you're probably interested in buying my artworks. I'm glad you're interested, because I have a few things I'd like to tell you about before you possibly buy anything. I am aware that I am not the most talented artist. I have worked hard on my skills and I am grateful for every compliment I receive, but I am realistic about what I can and cannot do. And so, instead of trying to sell my "good" works to people who might be disappointed if they saw what I am really capable of, I only sell my "bad" works on Saatchi. That way, you can be assured that you won't be disappointed when you buy something. I hope this is clear and that you keep looking around my page. Thanks for being interested in my work!
